Campus newspaper should be called Chronicle of Other Places

The Chronicle comes out on Thursdays at this time of year. Last week, while its lead story discussed the Durham faculty and Kunshan, it was out of date, failing to report the Wednesday decision in Fuqua shooting down administrators' proposals.

This week, not a mention. Instead we get stories about the reconstruction of Shaw and three gay rights demonstrators arrested in Raleigh --- valid, but secondary at best. At best.

Similarly, the paper squanders its editorial voice. A meaningless editorial. And not one columnist who shows any evidence whatsoever, of having spent one minute on interviewing and researching. Oh, with the exception of the fellow named Brewer who talks to a bar owner and toasts North Carolina's beer.

We deserve far better from 301 Flowers.
